If you are planning a short trip to Sofia and you want to find the cheapest available flights to get there, then this post is for you.

 

There are five budget airlines that offer flights to/from Sofia Airport – most of them are only to European cities):

  • Buta Airways – provides the easiest connection between Bulgaria and the Middle East. So far there is just one flight per week (on Tuesdays). Have in mind that it could be used as a connection when flying to Iran, Georgia or Turkey.
  • EasyJet – the best choice for flights between Sofia and Manchester
  • RyanAir – flying to 11 countries, via Terminal 2 of Sofia Airport (this terminal has a direct connection with the Sofia Subway)
  • Transavia – the only low cost company providing direct flights between Sofia and Amsterdam (Ryan Air and Wizz Air fly to Eindhoven)
  • WizzAir – so far they offer the most diverse destinations map for flights from/to Sofia

If you can’t find an easy route from your city to Sofia, I’d suggest a trip to Athens (Greece), then take a flight to Sofia, which is about 40 minutes.
